I still see this book being referenced frequently in many academic sources, and I have heard many police officers (some who have not even read the book) speak of operational procedure which is mentioned in this book.The book involves a qualitative study of police patrol work in Canada. It is very detailed and well worth reading. Highly recommended. I believe the author has also published a similar book on detective work which I am now interested in reading.
