Niagara Fall: A Novel of Crime and Comedy ReviewNiagara Falls: A Novel of Crime and Comedy by Rochester, NY based writer Stephen Wilcox is the latest book from this popular western New York author. Wilcox once again has created an intriguing tale of murder, mystery and human error that is both entertaining and suspenseful. However, "Niagara Falls" is a clear departure from his previous comic / sarcastic Hackshaw murder mystery series. The dark storylines, hard edge dialogue and complex interweaving of characters makes "Niagara Falls" much less comic than other Wilcox books. Loyal readers will find this book to be a bit more violent and harsh than his earlier works which tended to be lighter comedies. But the turn in writing style fits this particular story which focuses on the interconnection of four key characters: a housewife suffering through her mid-life crisis, a small time thug, an ex-monk and a waitress working in Niagara Falls. Seemingly disjointed lives intermix as the novel unfolds, all leading to a dramatic climax filled with confessions and regrets. Wilcox keeps his readers turing the pages as he slowly blends four separate storylines into the central plot in a style very similiar to Clive Cussler's blending of plots in his "Dirk Pitt" novels.
"Niagara Falls" is highly recommended for murder mystery and adventure reading enthusiasts. A compelling read, this book will entrance readers with intrigue and suspense that will make this novel one that is hard to set down once its been started.Niagara Fall: A Novel of Crime and Comedy Overview
