This book provides a window into family life that occurred between Eastern and Western culture. Karen's honesty and sincerity is reflected in her words and Bakri's letters are full of endearment. This book has a little dose of Malaysian history (minus the textbook atmosphere), a dose of family responsibilities, a big dose of love with added pinches of wit and humor.
