As advertised, Graeme Wallace has captured the Rockies in every season from high summer to deep winter, highlighting contrasts that only add to the majesty of this beautiful region. Popular sites like Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, the Icefield Parkway, and the area around Banff are well-represented. Some of the less-traveled areas in Yoho and Kootenay National Parks are also depicted.
The narrative is spare, providing only basic identificaion information once Wallace is past the introduction. This reviewer, who is familar with the Canadian Rockies, would have preferred a little more detail on the locations of the some of the photographs. However, the overall result is sure to thrill both the regular visitor and those dreaming of a visit. Wallace's gift as a photographer is to capture on film the often epic scale of the Canadian Rockies.
